Omega-3 Rich Berry Banana Nut Smoothie
I am a bit of a nut when it comes to smoothies. I love packing as many nutrients as possible into my breakfast smoothies, often compacting my blender to get it all in there. My Berry Banana Nut smoothie is a favorite not only because it has two of my favorite fruits, strawberries and bananas, but also because it is rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fats that help improve heart health, support eye health, combat depression, boost metabolism, and reduce inflammation. Flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts are among the plant foods with the highest amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and are excellent brain foods. When we mix them with potassium-rich bananas, romaine lettuce, and antioxidant-rich strawberries, we’ve got ourselves one powerful smoothie.
This smoothie is a light breakfast that’s great for on-the-go, and the fiber in it will keep you feeling full throughout your morning. Try it out and share your thoughts about this smoothie in the comments.
