How One Thai Massage Technique Brought Me Complete Relief
Shortly after I had my daughter, I started noticing this subtle but persistent pain in my pelvis. Weeks after recovering from birth, it still lingered. I tried stretching, yoga, even a chiropractic adjustment, but nothing seemed to fully release it. Over time, I got used to it, only noticing it when I moved too fast or pushed my body in certain ways. My left pelvis had this way of reminding me—it was definitely still out of place.
Then I went to a Thai massage workshop. Like most workshops, we spent time learning techniques and practicing on each other. When it was my turn to receive a session, my partner applied a technique meant to open the pelvis. And just like that—I felt it drop back into place. I moved my leg in every way I knew would make it scream in pain… and nothing. For the first time in over a year, I was completely pain-free.
I couldn’t stop smiling. I kept stretching and bending, expecting a hint of discomfort—but there was none. I knew in that moment it was gone for good. I was so elated, I bounced around the room sharing it with the instructor. Everyone gathered around, curious, as my partner demonstrated the move again while I described what it felt like inside my pelvis.
But the experience went deeper than physical relief. That dull, nagging pain had dimmed a part of me too—a protective, hidden part that was trying to stay tucked away. When the pain released, it felt like a stream of water flowing, and I felt that hidden part of me come alive again. It was one of those rare, incredible experiences that touches both body and spirit.
That moment reminded me that Thai massage isn’t just about physical relief—it’s about emotional release too. The body can carry tension for months, even years, but with the right approach, true release is possible. And when it happens, it’s transformative.
